BIOGRAPHIE
Ça commence par 3 cœurs tristes de Québec qui s’appliquent à faire du bruit dans lequel s’immisce le groove - lancent Mon VR de rêve, un premier EP de rock grinçant et diverti, en mars 2017 sous Michel Records, et rappliquent retapé.e.s même pas un an plus tard (en février 2018, sous Michel itou) avec La femme taupe, album à l’allant post-punk intégrant une fascination pour les métriques chaloupées et sautillantes de Lizzy Mercier Descloux. Nouvel espoir à la fois imposant, décapant et amusé, le groupe fait valoir son live frénétique au Québec (Les Francos de Montréal, Distorsion) et lors d’une tournée européenne, puis, à l’automne, remporte le Lucien du meilleur album post-punk au GAMIQ. L’EP Mi-tronc, mi-jambe suit en mars 2019 (Michel Records au Canada / October Tone en France) - puis le groupe s’engage sur la suite : un deuxième album aux horizons toujours plus vastes d’avant-rock, de shoegaze, d’IDM, de noise rock, d’art-pop, de hardcore et de tout ce qui se fait de décent et de fun du bon côté d’Internet, est en préparation.

BIOGRAPHY

Nursed on Sonic Youth and Riot Grrrl figureheads (Bikini Kill, Le Tigre), inspired by the 90’s noise scene, and invoking the ghost of Lizzy Mercier Descloux, these three humans breathe punk spirit into their everyday lives and give a new meaning to entertainment. It all started with Mon VR de Rêve, a creaky debut EP in march 2017, followed by the post-punk full-length debut with swaying and hopping metrics, La Femme Taupe, in February 2018 also with Michel Records. Collectively, VICTIME is much greater than the sum of its three individual parts. Their frantic live set quickly became a must-see, and the band then took its first flight out of the nest with a first European tour. All these efforts paid off with the winning of the "Best post-punk album" at GAMIQ awards in the same year. Always injecting grooves into their songs, the band continued to explore this avenue with the release of the EP Mi-tronc, mi-jambe in march 2019 (Michel Records), confirming that they are here to stay. VICTIME is currently working on its sophomore album, opening its horizon to shoegaze, IDM, noise-rock, art-pop, and hardcore, and a whole lot of fun experiments.
